Paint Creek Center for the Arts Announces New Members to Board of Directors

Paint Creek Center for the Arts (PCCA) has appointed two new members to their Board of Directors. Chef and business owner, Deb Silver, and entrepreneur and film producer, Brian Katz, are poised to add their own creative flair to the arts nonprofit.

Silver, who owns and operates catering company, The Silver Shamrocks Catering, is actively engaged with the greater Rochester area and has over two decades of experience in culinary arts. “My first kitchen gig was at the renowned Machus Red Fox in Bloomfield Hills and continuing through culinary school, apprenticeship, MBA, owning a catering business, and even a stint as a butcher, I lived the passion that I now deliver to you,” she said on The Silver Shamrocks’ website.

Her support for local non-profits extends beyond PCCA, having worked in partnership with Leader Dogs for the Blind, New Day Foundation, Paint a Miracle, and more. In 2022, she was named Businesswoman of the Year at the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle awards and serves as the guest chef on The Nine on Fox2 News Detroit.

The co-founder of both Umbrelic Entertainment and Anchor Bay Entertainment, Brian Katz has over 20 years of experience as a film producer, entrepreneur, and sales professional. In addition to his thorough knowledge and passion for film, Katz also received an Art minor from Western Michigan University, and studied abroad at Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy.

He is also active with The Children’s Center of Detroit, a non-profit helping abused children living below the poverty line. He previously served for many years as a volunteer advisor with BBYO, a Jewish youth organization, and is a graduate of the AmeriCorps NCCC program.

PCCA Executive Director Shaun Hayes highlighted Silver and Katz’s assets to the organization. “When it comes to inviting new members to our board, we look to the community. We like to find individuals who are both actively involved in the Rochester area and have a creative mindset. Brian and Deb both work in creative spaces, and their talents and commitment will serve as a great resource in driving our mission forward,” he said.
