As we have suffered losses both personal and professional, we have continued to endure with strength, compassion and a heightened sense of unity. In support and celebration of our team members and as a lasting reminder of our strength, custom artwork created by Michigan-based artists will be unveiled at eight HFHS locations in Spring 2021.

Artwork Guidelines
• Artwork should promote a healing environment and portray inspirational themes such as hope, resiliency, strength, perseverance, teamwork, family, compassion, unity, healing.
• All artistic mediums are welcome including large-scale murals, installation art and sculpture, in addition to traditional 2D and 3D media. Freestanding sculpture may be proposed for indoor or outdoor placement. Muralists should assume indoor placement with a ceiling height of 8.5’.
• To allow flexibility in artist proposals, maximum dimensions and precise sites at each location will be determined during the review process with the overall goal of securing an appropriate location for each selected artwork.
• It is preferable for artists to include a community engagement component to their project to build connection with the HFHS team members the artwork is meant to represent. These activities could take place at any stage of the project from planning to post-installation, either virtually or in-person, at the discretion of HFHS.
• See Special Considerations for artwork.
