DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nPaint Creek Center for the Arts is now accepting submissions for the upcoming exhibit\, Sur/Real\,  scheduled to open on Saturday\, April 1\, 2023.\nSur/Real is an open call group display opportunity\, aimed at presenting original works depicting landscapes\, both real and imagined\, created by emerging and established artists. \nSubmissions for the Sur/Real exhibition are due Sunday\, February 5\, 2023. \nExhibit Entry Requirements\n\nOpen to Michigan resident artists\, ages 16 and older.\nAll entries must be original hand-crafted work\, designed and executed by the accepted artist.\nWork should have been completed within the last five years (not before 2019).\nAccepted mediums: most 2d and 3d mediums including\, but not limited to\, ceramic\, collage\, digital art\, drawing\, fiber and fabric\, metal\, mixed media\, painting\, photography\, printmaking\, wood. No video or audio work will be accepted.\nWork that has been included in previous PCCA exhibits will not be accepted and should not be submitted for consideration.\nNo kit works or commercial reproductions of any kind allowed.\nAvoid submitting artwork larger than 5’ high by 5’ wide. PCCA is only able to accept a very limited number of large works.\nArtwork must be submitted through the online application form to be considered. PCCA will not accept walk-ins or deliveries of work for consideration.\nSpecial consideration is given to PCCA Members\, but membership is not required to participate. Membership does not guarantee acceptance into PCCA exhibits.\nPlease limit your submissions to your best 3 pieces. Where artists exceed 3 entries\, PCCA will only jury the first 3 submitted (based on timestamp).\n\nHOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK\nSubmissions must be received no later than 11:59PM on February 5 for consideration. Late applications will not be accepted. \nArtwork must be submitted through the online entry form and require the following information for each piece submitted: \n\nYour/Artist Name\nTitle of work\nMedium\nDimensions in inches following Width x Height x Depth (if framed\, please include the final framed size!)\nYear work was created\nRetail Price (insurance value if Not for Sale. If Not for Sale\, please note this!)\n\nWhenever possible\, art files should be titled with your last name and the name of the work to avoid any confusion when work is digitally archived. (example: instead of: “IMG4427.jpeg” name the file “LastName_ArtworkTitle.jpeg”) \nSelection Process\nSubmissions will be juried by PCCA’s current exhibition committee. Committee members review all entries via slideshow and submit their individual scores by piece. Artwork is randomly presented in the slideshow\, with the following information displayed alongside the image: title\, size\, medium\, price/nfs\, member status\, artist statement. Once all scores have been submitted\, an equal number of “surreal” and “real” submissions\, with an average score of 3.5/4 or higher\, will be accepted into the display. \nPCCA reserves the right to reject artwork upon delivery that does not reflect the artwork that was selected in the jury process. PCCA reserves the right to photograph work on display for use in promotions of the exhibit and for future promotional materials for PCCA. \nThe artist is responsible for bringing work to PCCA\, picking work up\, or for covering shipping costs. \nPCCA retains 30% commission on sales of artwork sold by Artists who are PCCA Members\, and 40% for non-members. \nFrom PCCA’s commission rate\, PCCA: staffs\, maintains and insure the exhibit\, provides all display and promotional marketing materials\, as well as collects\, reports\, and pays all sales tax. \nAccepted Artwork\nArtists will be notified of acceptance via email only on February 17th by end of day. If your work is accepted\, you will receive an acceptance letter (email body) along with an artist packet that includes a contract for display\, exhibit inventory sheet and Michigan w9. These documents must be completed and returned to PCCA no later than the time of artwork delivery. \nAll accepted works must arrive to PCCA between February 20th and March 22nd. Work that does not arrive by the March 22nd deadline will not be included in the exhibition. \nArtists must bring only accepted work to the gallery for the exhibition. PCCA will not accept or display any work that was not part of the jury process for selection. \nPCCA follows a strict NO WET WORK policy for exhibitions. Accepted artwork must be ready for display at drop off. Wet paintings\, frames without hanging wire\, wet clay\, etc.\, will not be accepted by PCCA staff and will be turned away. Please contact jenny@pccart.org if you have any questions or concerns about displaying your accepted artwork. \nUnsold artwork will be available for pick up by the artist or artist’s representative beginning May 1st through May 7th. DESCRIPTION:It’s that time again! The annual Student & Faculty exhibition returns this September! Showcasing their dedication to the visual arts and artistic skill\, the Student & Faculty show features the work of current PCCA instructors and students who were/are enrolled in the following terms: Summer 2021\, Fall 2021\, Winter 2022\, Spring 2022\, Summer 2022. All work displayed in the exhibit was created as part of their PCCA class(es). \nThe deadline to apply is Wednesday\, July 13\, 2022 by 11:59pm \nFor the full list of requirements and information about how to submit your work for consideration\, click here. \nMembership with PCCA is not a requirement for this exhibition\, but always encouraged. Members receive discounts on their class\, camp\, and workshop registration as well as a higher commission rate when their artwork sells as part of an exhibit with PCCA. Interested? SUMMARY:Tim Tenbusch - A Retrospective
DESCRIPTION:Please join Paint Creek Center for the Arts and the Tenbusch family as we reflect on the artistic accomplishments of late PCCA Member and Student\, Tim Tenbusch. Offering over forty works from Tim’s earliest college sketches through 2020 alongside comments and anecdotes from those closest to Tim\, we hope that visitors will experience the zest and passion for art that he shared with us all. Select pieces from the exhibit will be available for purchase. \nNewcomers to the Gallery at PCCA should know that the space is located on the second floor of Paint Creek Center for the Arts’ historic building and is not handicap accessible. A virtual version of the exhibit will be published on PCCA’s website the last week of the display period for those who are not able to join us in person. \nEntry Fee \nUnless otherwise noted\, all exhibitions at Paint Creek Center for the Arts are free to the public. Sales and donations collected from the exhibition will go towards the Tim Tenbusch fund\, dedicated to creating additional educational art opportunities through programming at PCCA. \nParking \nParking is free on Pine St. and in the Village Shoe Inn parking lot. Paid Parking is available on the opposite side of Village Shoe Inn in the Walnut/”West Parking Deck” on Walnut St. \nArtwork Purchase \nSee something you like? Please note the code in the lower right-hand corner of the wall tag “Tim-###” and see the front desk to make your purchase. Artwork must remain on display until the close of the exhibit (July 10th\, 2022) but will be marked as sold on the wall tag and the virtual exhibition.
