We will re-open with regular business hours on Tuesday\, May 31st. \nClasses that are normally scheduled to take place on Saturdays\, Sundays and Mondays will not take place during this closure and will resume their regular schedule the week following. DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to partner with South Street Skateshop for the 2016 Deck Art! \nEnjoy Rochester’s 6th annual skateboard art exhibition and competition! Participants are given a blank skateboard deck to use as their canvas; any medium is acceptable for 2 and 3-dimensional pieces. Categories include: Elementary\, Middle\, High School\, College & Adult. Pieces are judged\, and prizes given\, within each category. \nCompleted artwork will be placed on display throughout businesses in the downtown Rochester shopping district for onlookers to enjoy while strolling in and out of stores admiring the uniquely designed pieces of artwork. \nMay 19 & 20 5:00-9:00pm \nThe Thursday Night Kickoff will include a sneak peek at Deck Art 2016 entries as well as family and kids’ activities\, musical entertainment and more! Deck Art 2016 continues on Friday May 20\, 2016 from 5-9pm; with the same activities and The Saline Fiddlers from 7-9pm.

We are participating in the global all-volunteer event\, Slow Art Day! \nOne day each year – April 9 in 2016 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together to talk about their experience. That’s it. Simple by design\, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing. \nOur Birmingham Society of Women Painters exhibition will be on view and we hope you’re able to take it slow with our art!\nWe’ll have a docent from the Birmingham Society of Women Painters from 11am to 1pm on Saturday\, April 9!
