High School Photography

This class is for High School students at all levels. Students will learn about color, exposure, correction, image editing/adjustments and composition. Students need to bring a digital camera to class.

I Love to Paint

West Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

Students in this class will learn painting techniques by experimenting with color, brush strokes, paint application and composition. Students will work with watercolors, tempera and acrylic paint as they learn about famous painters each week.

The Light Catchers

North Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

Students are taught concepts and various photographic techniques to explore and practice each session. Topics include cyanotypes, perspective, nature, portraits, polaroid and more!

Wheel Throwing for Kids

Clay Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

Students will learn wheel throwing skills including centering, pulling, shaping and glazing. Class size is limited to allow each student the use of the wheel. Wear old clothes and get ready to throw!

Intermediate Wheel Throwing

Clay Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

In this class students will develop an individual style while learning to create large vessels, platers, lidded objects and altered forms. Beginner wheel throwing experience required.

Watercolor

West Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

In this class students will learn about composition, developing color palettes, mixing colors and tonal value. More advanced students will be encouraged to work on their own projects with individual guidance from the instructor. All students will benefit from regular critiques and demonstrations from the instructor.

Portrait Drawing and Painting

North Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

In this class, students will learn the foundations of drawing and painting the portrait from a live model. Through demonstrations, individual instruction and group critiques students will develop the necessary skills of portraiture such as: proportion, gesture, practical anatomy, color mixing, lighting and constructing form.

Drawing from Pencil to Pastel

This class will focus on a traditional studio approach to drawing from observation. Emphasis will be placed on light, shadow, value, form, line quality and perspective. This class is designed for students who would love to learn about drawing and have little or no prior experience.

Hand Building and Wheel Throwing

Clay Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

All levels are welcome in this combination class. Beginning students will focus on the fundamentals of clay: pinch pots, slab and coil method as well as basic wheel throwing. More advanced students are free to develop what they find most compelling.

Landscape Painting

North Studio 407 Pine Street, Rochester

Would you like to turn your vacation photographs into beautiful paintings? This class will teach each students how to transfer landscape photographs onto canvas. Students will learn skills such as perspective, composition, light and line. Students may choose acrylic or oil paint.
