All levels are welcome in this combination class. Beginning students will focus on the fundamentals of clay: pinch pots, slab and coil method as well as basic wheel throwing. More advanced students are free to develop what they find most compelling.
Would you like to turn your vacation photographs into beautiful paintings? This class will teach each students how to transfer landscape photographs onto canvas. Students will learn skills such as perspective, composition, light and line. Students may choose acrylic or oil paint.
This class is for High School students at all levels. The course will cover the painting mediums of oil, acrylic and watercolor as well as the essential building block of color mixing, color theory, paint application, design, composition and knowledge of materials.
This class is for students who love to draw and would like to learn more about the media. Students will use a variety of tools including pencil, charcoal, pen, graphite conte and more while developing a sensitivity to line quality and form. Projects will focus on self expression, drawing from observation and individual imagination.
Students will learn wheel throwing skills along with hand building techniques. Projects will include; vases, bowls, cups, plates or other forms which will then be fired and glazed. Class size is limited to allow each student the use of a wheel.
This class is for students who have beginning drawing experience and are ready to create more exciting drawings through layering, value, texture, color combinations, expression and mood. Projects will be created from observation and focus on individual direction.
This class is suitable for painters at all skill levels. Individual attention will be given to each student as they are encouraged to work at their own pace. Students will work on painting of their own choosing either from still life set-ups, photographs or other sources. Oil or acrylic paint may be used.
Wouldn't it be great to more than how to turn your camera on and off? In this photography class, learn the basics of how to take better photos with your digital camera. Become skilled at color, exposure corrections and image editing/adjustments. Students need to bring a digital camera to class each week.
This class is for homeschool students looking to supplement their at home curriculum with a comprehensive study of art. Students will learn about famous artists and their techniques throughout art history while also learning to generate their own innovative ideas for art making. The class will adhere to the National Visual Arts Standards.
